TikTok Trend That Is Encouraging Users To Embrace Their Natural Beauty and I’m So Here For It

TikTok trend that is encouraging users to embrace their natural beauty and I’m so here for it. Goodbye, filters! It’s not very often that the words ‘TikTok’ and ’empowering’ are written in the same sentence but I think I’ve discovered the TikTok trend that’s empowering? So hear me out…

A TikTok user films a video selfie with the ‘enhance’ filter applied – this basically adds enormous lashes and a heavy feline flick to their facial features. The trend is known as “my taste in music is your face trend” – it called this because the background song is Tear in My Heart by twenty one pilots. During the selfie video, the TikTok user removes the enhance filter, showing what their actual facial appearance look like without makeup when it gets to the lyrics “my taste in music is you face”.

The trend is “sharing my actual weight”- this shows how different body shapes carr the same amount of weight.

Unfortunately in the past, TikTok (or shall i say, social media in geneal TBH) has been criticised for showing unrealistic standards of beauty for women. So let’s all hope that there’s more positive trends to come!

Hello, my name is Leanne. I love everything about beauty, fashion, and food. I like to share my favourite products with others, whether it’s a new makeup product or a haircare item that I’m currently trying out. Additionally, I recently brought home Bonnie who’s a 6-month-old Shih Tzu puppy that is super playful and completely adorable, and that didn’t make my life busy enough I also had two very boisterous 1-year-old guinea pigs called Echo and Enzo
