Can we begin this blog post by saying – How the hell is it already September? It feels like this year has flown by! While the beginning of the year felt slow, by mid-August, everything seemed to speed up, and suddenly, it’s September!

As autumn approaches and the cooler weather is on its way, I wanted to share the essential autumn makeup items you should include in your makeup bag. We sometimes forget how important our skincare routine is – I know I do every year! But the makeup that we use during the autumn and winter months also needs to change. Plus, it’s a great time to experiment with new makeup with rich berry and dark pink shades, starting to become popular and can help to add warmth to any look.

I want to share some new makeup products that I’ve been loving, along with my go-to favourites that I can’t live without. First, here is a brief overview of my skin type is that i have an oily T-zone, while my cheeks and forehead can become dry quite easily. Therefore, during the colder months, I like to use moisturising creams that are oil-free whilst still leaving your skin feeling and looking hydrated.
Simple: Glow+ Brightening Cream
I’ve been using this simple brightening cream for the past couple of months, and I must say, I’m loving it. [I got it as I got it as a free gift, but just to be clear, this blog post isn’t an ad!] I love how it hydrates my skin without leaving an oil residue, which is great for using underneath makeup or gives a healthy glow if you opt for a no makeup day. The price i good for the purse at the original price being £9.99, but at the moment at superdrug it’s on offer for £6.59 – what a steal. [Link Here]

Maybelline Multi-Use Concealer
I’ve been using this concealer for so long, probably well over 3 years now. I’ve been trying other concealers in between the time, but have alway kept coming back to this concealer. I’m not a big fan of foundation, so I actually use this concealer as foundation. I find that you don’t need a lot, just 4 or 5 dots around the face and blend them, so much quicker and because it’s a full coverage, it gives a flawless, glowy appearance. It also stays on for 12hr+. I’m not a big fan of wearing mascara, but I was gifted this ‘Rimmel London: Thrill Seeker’ mascara, so I had to try it, and I’ve tried plenty of brands – from high-end to budget-friendly. I love this mascara, and I may start wearing it more often, as I find that it doesn’t leave me with panda eyes at the end of a long day or dry my eyes out, which is kind of weird, I know! But honestly, I do find that certain brands of mascara, for some reason they dry my eyes out, which is really annoying and for £12.99 at superdrug, I don’t think that too bad. [Link Here]

Purifide: Daily Moisturiser SP30
I was gifted this moisturiser product at the beginning of summer, and I’ve been using it especially because of the SPF 30. You can never have too much SPF! I wear skincare products that contain SPF all year round, underneath makeup and even when I don’t wear makeup. I don’t suffer from acne; however, I do from time to time have small hormonal breakouts, so I like this on hand as it’s not too thick – no clog pores – but does help to hydrate my skin during the summer months and now leading into the cooler months too. I love a good lip oil, and this one doesn’t disappoint! Simply apply onto your lips with one coat for a sheer coverage or two coats to up the shine and volume of your lips. Your lips will thank you during the autumn months by being kept hydrated. [Link Here]
Bondi Sands: Matte One Day Tan
Having a lovely summer tan glow isn’t just for the summer, as during he cold months having a nice tan glow can really help to boost your mood. I’ve tried loads of different brands of tanning lotions, from instant to gradual, and this Bondi Sandi is great. Super easy to apply and doesn’t leave you looking like a zebra if you’re not a seasonal self-tanner. [Link Here]
