De-puff the under-eyes

Before applying anything to your under-eyes, gently use either an ice pack, cool eye gel or even a cool teaspoon and massage around the area – it helps to constrict the blood vessels as well as pressure that can activate the body’s natural response to draining the fluid within the area.

Apply eye cream

I super important to hydrate and nourish will rejuvenate your skin leaving it looking and feeling smooth and soft – as we go throughout the day to day lives, the outermost layer of our skin which has moisture to flush away toxins and then carry nutrients to the skin’s cells.

Also, if you like using concealer having unhydrated skin can make it harder for concealer or corrector to sink in and stay on all day, instead it will just sit on top and be a lot easier to wipe off.

Apply a light layer of foundation

Use foundation all over, but only use a very thin layer under your eyes and blend. Still haven’t found your shade? Well try blending a dark and light – apply it above your jawline, and blend it into your cheeks and neck. If you find once you have blended the two shades and they look natural, then you have found yourself the perfect shade for you.

Use a Corrector

If using just foundation isn’t even and you’re still finding your dark circle to be obvious, then a colour corrector is a great option. A corrector uses a colour theory to help cancel out tones of pigmentation or bruised eyes – you can use concealer over the top.

Blend in the concealer

Using a concealer on your under-eyes is the best light-reflective formula, but must be a shade lighter than the rest of your skin for the area to look brighter. It’s super important to pick a concealer that works for you, as if you have fine lines then you’ll need a more dense, matte and firm concealer that won’t crease easily, but if you have relatively smooth skin then you can go for more hydrating liquid options. And if you are wanting more pigment, then a creamy stick or pot would be best.

Set your makeup well

As loose powder can eventually cause your makeup to become cakey, then blotting papers take down the shine in areas and use a small brush to apply setting in the areas. You can also use a fine mist of fixing spray and if you have shiny areas, then simply dry dab with a powder puff.
