Love Your Pet Day – Here Are Few Ways To Make The Day More Memorable
Yeah, I know I’m slightly celebrating this day too! I feel like the past couple of weeks have been my best yet. The days have been flying by, but I haven’t felt motivated to start new things. However, that’s a topic for another time and another blog post. Right now, I want to celebrate my best ‘puppy’ friend. This loyal companion doesn’t judge me, hold negative opinions, or care about how I look. I believe this friendship deserves more recognition than anything else in the world.

Is there any better feeling than spoiling your pets for the entire day? Even though the day is more well-known overseas in the USA, it doesn’t mean it can’t be known, or your pets can’t be celebrated more here in the UK.
How I spoiled my little friend “Bonnie”, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu, is firstly letting her lie in – as she hates getting out of bed before 10 am, I gave her lots of cuddles, before preparing her favourite breakfast – boiled chicken. I then took her out in the car to restock her treat box, then we came back, so Bonnie had her afternoon nap.
- Start the day off right with extra cuddles and attention –Your little buddy will love the special attention, because they love you so much and you’re their entire world.
- Create a little at-home pet spa day – Having a calm and relaxing environment can create the perfect bonding space for both you and your dog. It can include
- Take plenty of photos and create lovely memories with your pets – Remember to take plenty of photos, including you and your pet(s ) together, as your future self will thank your past self.
- Take them to their favourite park or a new place for their walk –Taking some time out of your busy life to spend quality time with your furry best friend will be the highlight of their day. Sometimes, a change in the routine or taking a walk somewhere new is a perfect way to bond and keep it new and interesting.
- Play with their favourite toy – Playtime is another great way to bond and spend quality time with them. Dogs are basically children with four legs; they love playing, especially with their favourite humans.
- Bake homemade treats – Who doesn’t deserve their favourite treat on their special day?! And there shouldn’t be any excuses; there are lots of simple and healthy dog treat recipes.
- Buy them a new toy – Wouldn’t you get bored with having to play with the same toy all the time? My little pup really does have far too many toys…I will definitely agree with myself on that one, but overall, she loves being able to choose what toy she wants from her toy box.
- Donate to an animal shelter –There are plenty of local animal shelters, meaning lots of dogs or cats to give a little gift to, from a blanket to a bag of healthy but tasty treats.
- Upgrade your dog’s bed – Is your dog’s bed in need of an upgrade? What better way to celebrate a dedicated day for your pet than to get them a comfortable upgrade?
- Treat them to a fresh groom – You’ll be giving them a great, relaxing and calm day out. Unless your dog is anything like my dog, who only loves the feeling out leaving the groomers, but hates everything before and during.
- Give your little friend extra belly rubs – Belly rubs are the best, and most dogs love to have them – my little pup demands them, at any hour of the day. They are also a good way to bond and spend quality time with them.
