Indulge in the Sweetness of Caramelised Banana and Chocolate-Filled Pancakes
Hello! If you love chocolate, banana, and pancakes like I do, then you should try making this American-style pancake recipe. It’s my all-time favourite recipe, and I especially love the surprise chocolate filling, maple syrup, and walnut/hazelnut topping. It’s simply delicious!
Ingredients for the pancakes:
- 200g self-raising flour
- 1tbsp golden caster sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 25g butter [melted, and a little extra for cooking]
- 200ml milk
- Oil or sunflower oil
Ingredients for the topping:
- 200g chocolate hazelnut spread
- 2 banana
- Maple syrup
Directions
- To make pancakes, start by mixing flour, baking powder, milk, butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl or jug. Whisk the ingredients until the batter is thick and smooth.
- Next, heat up a non-stick frying pan and add oil or a knob of butter. When the butter starts to foam, carefully pour in just enough batter to cover the bottom of the pan.
- To make a pancake, cook it for 3-4 minutes on each side, adjusting the temperature as needed, until it has a golden brown color. Once the pancake is fully cooked, you can add a drizzle of lemon juice and sprinkle sugar on top before serving.
- If your wanting chocolate filling, then scoop in 1tsp of chocolate spread into the centre of the pancake, then pour a small amount of batter on top of your pancake – just enough to cover the chocolate spread.
- Once all the pancakes have been cooked and gold brown, sliced banana’s and drizzle caramel. Finally stack the pancakes and service!
