Okay, so even though it’s technically not springtime yet and we have another 20 days to go, nothing stops you from getting ahead of the game a little by decluttering and organising, kitchen cupboards, and beauty supplies.

The term spring cleaning doesn’t just have to be applied to usual areas of your home, it can also be applied to other areas that would also benefit a lot from a spot of good cleaning out and decluttering like; paper work, car, and finances.

A Simple Spring Cleaning

Whether you clean your home once in a blue moon or with a weekly/monthly schedule. Spring cleaning season gives up the motivation that we sometimes need to declutter, organise our home, and also give some attention to areas that haven’t benefitted from a good clean in a while like; cobwebby ceiling corners.

Kitchen

When was the last time you did a deep cleaning of your kitchen cupboard like I mean removing all of your cupboard foods or seeing if you need every single one of your 10243 mugs and drinking glasses? When was the last time you pulled out your dishwasher, washing machine or tumble dryer?

Wardrobe

Springtime is the perfect time to have a good deep look into what is hanging in your wardrobe, even at the very back. Alway to save on space, you could pack away the winter clothes and decide what need for the upcoming season.

Curtains

When was the last time you changed your curtains or even washed them? You’ll be surprised at how much dust a set of curtains can attract. Nothing will be better than knowing that your home is clean from top to bottom, including freshly-laundered curtains.

Beauty Draw

Do you even know how long your foundation, concealer or eyeshadow pallet has been sitting in your beauty draw? Did you know that you it’s best to switch out opened foundation for new foundation every 6-12 months. And you switch out your mascara every 3 months.

And Not Just “Cleaning” Your House

Even though spring cleaning is usually referred to as deep cleaning your home, why not consider applying the same principles to other areas of your life? Now that you most probably, already or very nearly in the spring clean mode, it’s now the perfect time to consider other areas that could benefit from a good clean-up and declutter.

Car

Give your car some TLC, by the book it in for a service and if you have time get it cleaned inside and out [ but if you don’t then you can always get it valeted.

Finances

Is everything okay with your finances? What regular monthly outgoing could you do without? Watch payments could you cancel? Can you get a better rate elsewhere? How is your budget looking for this month?

Paperwork and Filling

Do you find that when you need an important document, you can never seem to find it? How long are you holding onto paperwork that you simply don’t need? Let’s be real, even the most organised filing system can benefit from a good decluttering and review once in a while.

I would say, don’t go away thinking that I love spring cleaning or cleaning in general, but what I do love is the feeling that you get after you have tackled the areas that you have been wanting to clean but have never seemed to get around to cleaning them or you had forgotten to clean last time.

Are you planning on spring cleaning this year? What are the top areas of your home that are on your to-do list? I would love to hear how you will be tracking it and what it means to you!
