A loyal Hocus Pocus fan? And had to wait 29 years after the release of the original cult classic? Well, you’re going to be over the moon, as it’s time to get out your spell books and dust off your broomsticks because Disney+ has dropped the long-awaited first official trailer for Hocus Pocus 2. The Sanderson Sisters are back with a vengeance this fall 2022.
The infamous Sanderson Sisters, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy are back with a vengeance and are ready to unleash terror in the small town of Salem.
In the official trailer, you can see three girls, Becca, Izzy and Cassie, accidentally summon the Sandersons Sisters back from the dead by a special ritual that was designed for witches to help them yield their powers on their 16th birthday.
Back in November 2021, Disney+ treated us with the first look at the legendary actors – Bette, Kathy and Sarah – as they are resprising their roles in the upcoming film and dressed in all their witchy finery.
What will Hocus Pocus 2 plot be about?
Well, if you hear and read this blog post then you are a fan of the original 1993 film, where we saw the three Sanderson Sisters – Winifred (Midler), Sarah (Parker) and Mary (Najimy) – come back to life thank to a young boy called Max, as he lit a candle and opened the spooky, dusty book in their Salem house. But as they attempt to get to grips with the 20th century, they are then horrified to discover that halloween has now become a fancy dress holiday.
For the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2, Disney+ has confirmed that the plot is about “Three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.”
Who are the other confirmed cast member?
Of course, we all know about Sarah, Bette and Kathy have officially confirmed their roles for the upcoming sequel, but there is also eleven new cast members in the seque. These includes; Whitney Peak (Gossip Girls), Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep), Sam Richardson (The Tomorrow War, Veep), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, Sex Education), Juji Brener, Froy Gutierrz (Teen Wolf), Belissa Escobedo (Don’t Look Deeper), Lila Buckingham (Crown Lake), Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen. Doug Jonas was casted in the original movie and will returning for the sequel.
When will the Hocus Pocus sequel be released?
It has been confirmed that Disney+, Hocus Pocus 2 will be available to stream on 30th September 2022…So you won’t have to wait for too long.
