Are you aware that there are so many positives to failing? I didn’t realise or even think about it until I failed at something important to me. I needed to pass, but that universe said ‘Nope, that isn’t happening today. After the initial shock and disappointment wears off, you then start to learn what it feels like to fail and that the only way from here is up. Every one of us goes through good and bad times, when we pass or fail at things in life – from job interviews, school exams, driving tests or training you’re doing. Failing is generally seen as negative, but going through plenty of failures in my life, I come to realise that there can be some positives too. Sometimes failing can be a blessing in disguise, it could stop you from going down the wrong path and making the wrong choices. It can turn out to be a great learning curve for me too.

Failing something doesn’t have to alway be awful. Sure, receiving news that you didn’t want to hear but it happen and it’s not the end of the world. So i thought that in today’s i would share some wisdom that i’ve learnt going through my failure.

ARE THERE LESSONS IN FAILURE

The short answer is yes. I believe that there are so many lessons in every single situation in life. It doesn’t matter if you pass or fail, there’s always something to learn on this journey. The things that I’ve learnt is one that I can’t control every aspect of my life and two it taught me to have patience. Also allowing yourself to accept that faith of passing and failing an exam is out of your hands, might make it a little easier to accept a failed result.

FAILURE WILL TEACH YOU PATIENCE

Anybody who knows me well will know that I don’t have a lot of patience, especially when waiting for things that I want. So when I fail my driving test and then had to wait 4 weeks to retake my driving test……yeah you probably already guessed…I hated it! Nevertheless, I am a firm believer that there are lessons to be learnt in everything you do in life, but that still doesn’t make it any easier at the moment. Timing is everything and maybe right now isn’t the time but it doesn’t mean it won’t happen eventually, it just means you have some more learning left to do.

Keep reminding yourself like i have to on regular basis, that it’s okay to fail and that you don’t always have to pass everything first time. Remember, some of the best creators, inventors and philosophers in the world failed too, and still got to where they are now.

FAILING ISN’T THE END OF THE WORLD

If you really sit back think, there are some many positives in failing. The main one being is that doesn’t mean anything is over. Just because you failed at one thing doesn’t automatically mean that failed at everything and you can’t go on to do great things and have opportunities again. Majority of the time these things just happen – it could be something that you did/didn’t do, or it could simply be out of your control – but this doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the road for you. Throughout out my life, i’ve been faced with rejection – failed interviews – but that hasn’t stopped my from enjoying life and picking myself back up and trying again. You will move on to bigger and better things, sooner than you first expected to happen. It just takes time. Also the experiences that you’ve learn from failing, might actually help you to do better next time.
