Positive thinking is very much a personal mind field. It’s a simple but powerful coping tool that can really help to diffuse tension and alter our mindset during times of stress, self-doubt and anxiety, by focusing our thoughts on the life beyond this temporary struggle.
By repeating an encouraging phrase gives them words power to squash our worries and self-defeating thoughts and instead, makes space for self-compassion. Even though anxiety won’t be magically erased, affirmations can counter the feeling of emotional distress and doubt by bolstering optimism and motivation.
