
Homemade Health Shots That Will See You Through January!
Here’s to another January! January is all about improving health and well-being. So what better way to stay healthy than by having a nutritious shot? However, buying them every day can quickly add up therefore making homemade health shots, will not only save you money, but you can also add in your favourite fruits and veg.
These homemade health shots are not only easy to make and budget-friendly, but they are also packed with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can prepare these shots up to 7 days in advance.

Ginger Shot
- 60g ginger, skin left on
- 400ml fresh apple juice
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- Chop the ginger into small chunks, then tip them into a blender along with the apple juice and lemon juice. Blend it all for a few minutes or until the mixture is smooth.
- Sieve the juice over a jug and then serve!

Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Shot
- 1 orange
- 2 fresh lemons
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh turmeric
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh ginger
- 1/8 fresh black pepper
- 1/4 tsp virgin oil (optional)
- Firstly, juice the orange and lemon. Depending on how you juice your fruit, you might need to peel it beforehand.
- Add the chopped turmeric and ginger into a blender and blend until smooth. Then add the orange and lemon juice, and blend for around 30 seconds.
- Add in a little drop of water if the mixture is a little on the thicker side. Sieve the juice over a jug.
- Pour the mixture into two serving glasses. For the best experience, enjoy the juice shot immediately with a pinch of cracked black pepper.
Ginger, Apple & Fennel Shot
- 1 thumb-sized piece of root ginger, peeled
- 1/2 small fennel bulb, sliced
- 300ml cloudy apple juice
- salt (optional)
- 2 limes, cut into wedges (optional)
- Put the ginger, fennel and apple juice together in a smoothie blender and blend until smooth.
- Once you’ve blended the mixture, sieve and press with the back of a spoon.

Green Mineral Shot
- 2 handfuls of either spinach or kale (both options are a good option)
- 1/2 green apple (Sliced)
- 2 cups fresh pineapple (Diced)
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley (Chopped)
- Ginger
- 2 kiwis (Peeled, Sliced)
- 2 limes (Juiced)
- 2-3 large celery (Chopped)
- 1/2 cucumber (Sliced)
- 5 cups coconut water
- Start by slicing and preparing all the ingredients, then grab your blender and add in all the ingredients.
- Blend everything until fully combined.
- After blending everything, the next step is to sieve the mixture into a bowl.
- Once you’ve your juice, pour it into little air-tight bottles. (Tip: You’ll be able to store the juice in a fridge for up to 2 weeks.)
- Then enjoy!
