Spring Cleaning Series: Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

Cleaning is one powerful doing word and spring cleaning is important for everyone, even if you dread it. I really have get in the zone to clean and my main source of motivation is the feeling of coming to a clean house.

I tend to plan a cleaning day for a weekend day when i know i have the whole day to clean and organise from top to bottom.

For me to “get in the zone” i will set all the cleaning supplies, light a candle and play a good playlist. This really prepares me for the day ahead and my it so much easier knowing everything i need is in one place.

De-clutter

By simply de-cluttering a room, organising your wardrobe or looking through that dreaded junk drawer, that you will very easy like to forget, can make you be efficient as well as keeping you organised too.

Plan a schedule

Regardless of where you start, having a plan set for tackling each room will keep you focused. What are a in of work? What rooms or areas can you skip?

Work from top to bottom

To make it easier on yourself, start from the ceiling down – it will force debris down and also keep you from having to re-dust or re-clean areas.

Think green when your spring cleaning

Lets start spring on a clean note without using cleaning product that contain lots of chemicals and toxins. I find using a steam cleaner to be the best green products for cleaning. You can use it to clean your microwave, tiles, kitchen appliances, bathroom, hard floors or even outdoor areas.

Since only hot water vapor is used, there’s no  harsh chemicals instead it’s 100% natural

If you not have a steam cleaner, you can still be green used distilled vinegar, baking soda and water.

Don’t be scared of the kitchen and bathroom

I can’t be the only one who dreads having to clean the kitchen and bathroom. So i’ve put together a quickly list of the most troubled areas.

Kitchens

  • Go through your pantry an refrigerator, also wipe down the shelves and throw away any old or unwanted items.
  • Wipe down all you cabinets.
  • Make so to used gentle cleaners or steam cleaners to clean any stainless steel appliances, to avoid scratching or cause other issues.

Bathrooms

  • Go through you cosmetics or medicine cabinet – make sure to throw away any expired items.
  • Change your shower curtain.

Walls and windows need love too

When it come to everyday cleaning, we always remember to clean our floors, but often forget about the walls and windows. Fact: Dust doesn’t only settle on the floor or other work surfaces. Simply use a damp cloth to wipe down the wall and blinds (start from the top and work your way down), then steam clean the windows – a squeegee is a great way to clean windows.

Let spring cleaning set a new tone

Are you feeling your house is dark and heavy, well why not make some small changes that will help to lighten and fresh things up for spring. By simply add in new colorful pillows, pieces of art work or even a new rug, can really transform your rooms for spring.
