The Best Thrillers That Will Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat This October!
I will probably say this for the rest of the year now, but I still can’t believe it’s October! It’s that time of the year when we’re all looking for a great, attention-grabbing movie to watch. Since it’s the spooky season, a good thriller is what we’re after. In this blog post, I’ve got you covered.
We all know that Netflix adds lots of movies every week. It can be challenging to decide what to watch without spending hours scrolling through the catalogue and not choosing anything. I’ve rounded up some of the best thrillers on Netflix that you can watch right now from classics to contemporary hits.
The Platform 2 (2024)

Cast: Milena Smit, Hovik Keuchkerian, Natalia Tena
Director: Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia
Storyline: A thrilling physical journey that allows an approach to the darkness, where it is scary to look. It appeals to the viewer’s civil responsibility and forces them to face the limits of their solidarity.
To better understand the sequel, it is important to watch the first film, which is called ‘The Platform’. This is because the second film is set in the same universe as the first film, as well as mostly taking place in the same nightmarish vertical prison.
The Plot: The storyline is that each day a platform is filled with food which descends cell-by-cell from top to bottom. There’s technically enough food for each level, but only if everyone sticks to eating the one food item they requested before entering the prison however, the big problem is, they don’t!
Unlike the first film, the second film introduces a different era in the prison, where cellmates come up with a strict system to ensure that as many people eat as possible. Only eat your food, and nothing else! And if anyone breaks “the law” is punished.

Cast: Eva Green, Mark Strong, Chai Fonacier
Director: Lorcan Finnegan

If you are unaware of what Nocebo means when a negative outcome that happen if someone believes something will cause them harm.
The Plot: Christine a children’s fashion designer, takes a call, a disease-ridden dog approaches and shakes itself, spreading ticks onto her before vanishing. One tick attaches itself to her neck, subsequently debilitating Christine with a mysterious illness.
A woman named Diana arrives at Christine’s home, claiming to be the caregiver Christine had hired. Christine’s husband, Felix, and daughter, Bobs, are both distrustful of Diana. After settling in, Diana unpacks her suitcase, revealing a collection of relics and folk magic ingredients. She uses a matchbox to summon and capture the tick that bit Christine. Then, she assembles an altar in her room’s fireplace and uses its ashes in a ritual to commune with the unseen spirit of a child.
Christine allows Diana to treat her, and it has positive results. Despite this, Felix remains wary of Diana. He confronts Diana in her room and orders her to stay away from Christine. A defiant Diana suggests he leave, telling him ominously to be careful with the stairs. As Felix is about to descend, he is attacked by Bob’s pet canary, which he kills in panic. While Diana and Christine bond while burying the bird, Felix senses that Diana is responsible for the incident and fears she is driving a wedge between him and his family.
