The thought of moving away can seem scary and uncomfortable, but at the same time, it can be the best experience you’ll ever have in your life. From feeling more confident about who you are, more self-growth, and getting the opportunity to experience a new place; which can be amazing in the best way.

The reality is, is that you want to know whether you will like it or not without taking the giant leap. You might be thinking that your hometown has everything that you need and is totally normal, which is totally fine but why just settle for what you know without experiencing what could your life could.

Apply and accept jobs away from home

Moving away from home might seem to be the hardest part but finding and landing a job is probably the hardest part. Especially if you don’t have the luxury of working from home; which means you need to find a new job to start once you’ve move, or if you current work company have multiple locations, your could consider requestioning a transfer to a different location.

Develop a clear plan and budget

Since it’s a huge life-changing decision, it’s super important to develop a clear plan and budget plan, detailing where in the world you are wanting to move to and if it’s financially feasible for you. Create a list of how you will be taking action with your moving plans.

Bring your comfort items

If you find moving away really hard at first that is okay, as it’s a huge, life-changing event and a big decision. However that shouldn’t stop you from taking the first step, there are plently of way to ease the feelings of homesickness and loneliness by packing with you some of you personal comfort items that reminds you of home – whether that’s, your favourite blanket, teddy bear, a favourite family recipe.

If you do suffer from homesickness, remember that it’s only temporary and you’re only having these kinds of emotions because you’re stepping out of your comfort zone.

Don’t let anything hold you back

It might be hard emotionally, but try not to allow anyone to hold you back from leaving – not your parent, friends, not your siblings, not your friends.
