Is The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush Wand Is Worth The Investment?
There’s no big secret that I’m a big fan of makeup, including blusher. A quick swipe of a great blusher can dramatically change an entire look. I love how a pop of pink can add a healthy glow to any makeup look. A blusher is a transformative makeup item, yet it can be in the most subtle or outlandish way.
I have experimented with various brands of powdered blushers, ranging from budget to high-end. I have always preferred powdered blushers over liquid ones because I find them easier to apply. However, I’ve recently tried the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Blush Wand in the shade Pink Bright. I wasn’t sure if the hype around this blusher was worth the experience price tag. But I thought since it was summer I would go ahead and buy the blusher. Read on if you want to see what my thoughts were!
The Basic
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Blush Wand is described as a universal flattering easy liquid blush wand that lifts and revive the look of every complexion and revives the look of every complexion. Within the Blush Wand range, there are 4 shades – Pink Pop, Peach Pop, Dream Pop and Pillow Talk. This product is priced at £30 and can be purchased at John Lewis, Charlotte Tilbury website, Sephora UK, Space UK, FeelUnique and Cult Beauty.
The Packaging
This blusher packaging is probably going to be hated or loved. The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Beauty Blusher come in a squeeze tube with a cushion sponge applicator. To get the product out of the tube, you can twist and unlock the top and then squeeze the tube until the liquid comes out from the sponge. Once you get enough product, you can lock the top backup to prevent the product from coming out when it’s not in use.
The only main problem with the sponge applicator is that it can get a little messy because the product comes out on top of the sponge and at the sides. So my advice would be to dab from the sides of the sponge onto your face or wipe some onto your finger and then apply it to your face. The packaging isn’t unusable but it’s just annoying.
On a positive note, the sponge holds the liquid blush and it seems the product is so pigmented that one squeeze will usually last a few uses, which means you don’t need to constantly untwisting and squeezing.
The Formula
The formula of the blush is quite liquid and blends very easily on the skin. The sheer gives a subtle flushed look, but can also be layered for a stronger look. As the shimmer is mirco-fine, it doesn’t look like a glitter bomb on the cheeks, nor does it emphasise texture or pores. The consistency is thin but still creamy and sinks right onto the skin, giving no risk of patchiness or overapplication.
The Summary
Pros:
Cons:
- The price tag is expensive.
- The product feels like it’s half full.
- Fades throughout the day.
My overall review of this blusher product is that the product is beautiful and gives your complexion the most gorgeous, dewy glow. Plus on top of that, it has a nice formula and it’s easy the sponge makes it an easy product to use. However, I’m yet to decide whether it’s worth the £30 price tag. Don’t get me wrong, the product is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to treat themselves, but I wouldn’t say that it’s a must-have.
