The festive events are going to happen all across the UK this year including, pantomimes, ice skating and shows, so you can fill up your calendar with all the Christmas activities and kickstart the most wonderful time of the year. And with that in mind, I’ve compiled a selection of festive events, and you’ll get the chance to watch people stumble around the ice rinks – the run-up to Christmas is just as important time as the day itself when it comes to getting into the festive spirit.
But if you don’t manage to get everything ticked off your run-up-to-Christmas activity list, then don’t worry, remember to jot them down for next year’s festive activities.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The comedy actress and musical theatre star Lesley Joseph will be heading to Milton Keynes this Christmas to star as The Wicked Queen and offer some legal advice from everyone’s favourite TV judge, Rob Rinder as Man In The Mirrors. Also, comedians Paul Chuckle and Aaron James will be in this year’s magical pantomime line-up.
And if that wasn’t enough, it will also be packed with traditional pantomime ingredients that you come to expect, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be brought to life with side-splitting comedy, sensational special effects and plenty of festive magic.
Hogwarts in the Snow
For all the Harry Potter fans, this Hogwarts in the Snow is a must-see, especially if your favourite Yule Ball. Step yourself into the scene of Hogwarts at Christmas as the iconic Warner Bros. The studio tour has undergone its yearly festive makeover, complete with the blankets of filmmaking snow.
Due to the popularity of the muggle types, it has already booked up for Crimbo, but snap up some tickets for January to get your 2023 off to a spellbinding start.
Christmas at Gulliver’s Land
If your wanting to have a family getaway, then Gulliver’s Land is a perfect festive family adventure. But be sure to look out for Elfie mischief, fairy fun and snowy surprise. The winter wonderland is a great place for the kids to explore, they also get to choose their own gift from the Elf Workshop.
Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market
This annual Birmingham Christmas market is the large authentic German Christmas market that is outside of Germany or Austria. It’s a city favourite amongst the residents and visitors, where you can enjoy all the traditional food – pretzels, roasted almonds, and schnitzels – all of which can be washed down with traditional beer – Gluhwein, weissbier or just a simple cup of hot chocolate.
You can also tick off a few gifts from your constantly growing Christmas shopping list from one of the many outdoor stalls lining Victoria Square and New Street, featuring everything from handcraft toys to jewellery and beautiful, delicate glass baubles. You could also head over to Centenary Square to get your fix with fairground fun and ice skating.
Lightopia Festival
This ultimate neon winter wonderland light experience will not only showcase multi-sensory interactive light and lantern installations. It also features a spectacular festive water show and is ready to transport you into a fantastical Christmas experience like nothing else. Escape yourself into an incredible world of light at the Lightopia Festival at London’s Crystal.
The water show is 40-metre-wide and 15-metre-tall and over the lower lake, also featuring the beloved Christmas imagery of a giant Santa, Rudolf, a Christmas tree, snowflakes and many other highlights which includes; The Wonders of the Dragon, a Magical Forest and many more.
The price range from – Standard advance tickets £19.50 off-peak and £24.50 peak for adults, £13 off-peak and £16.50 peak for children, and £56 off-peak and £72 peak for families of two adults and two children. Under 3’s can go in for free. Essential carers of disabled visitors can attend for free; the disabled visitor pays the normal admission fee.
